On Monday, November 3rd, our dear friend and fellow practitioner Audrey Hutin was in a serious scooter accident in South Beach, Miami. Emergency services were called immediately, and Audrey was taken to the ER.
She sustained multiple injuries — a deep facial laceration requiring sixteen stitches, a nasal bone fracture, a fracture of her left wrist (hamate bone), two broken teeth, and extensive bruising and wounds across her body. She is now in the process of recovery, but faces significant medical expenses, ongoing treatment, and time away from work.
Audrey was born in France in 1988 and began her professional life as an engineer and trading assistant before following her heart into a different kind of calling. In 2016, she left the corporate world to become a fitness instructor, and soon after, discovered yoga — a practice that changed, and ultimately saved, her life.
Audrey writes:
“Yoga gave me the strength to leave an abusive relationship and start over. It gave me back my body, my mind, and my soul. That’s why I chose to dedicate my life to sharing it with others — to help them find the same courage and peace that yoga gave me.”
Since 2019, Audrey has been teaching Vinyasa, and in 2020 she fell in love with the discipline and devotion of Ashtanga Yoga. This year, she moved to the United States to study at Miami Life Center, committing fully to the path of yoga as a student and apprentice.
Now, in the wake of this unexpected accident, Audrey needs our support — to cover medical expenses, dental reconstruction, therapy, and to help her rebuild her life so she can continue her journey of practice and teaching.
