On 07/10/25, we received one of the best gifts on earth from God, our Aspen girl. As two teen parents with 2 kiddos under two, we knew it was gonna be a LOT, but nothing that we hadn’t prepared for already. When she arrived into the world, she was so beautiful and so healthy! We couldn’t have asked for a better delivery; she was just so perfect.
Six days from her 2-week appointment (07/30/25) was just a regular day. Babies were both more fussy than usual, but other than that, normal. That night, we had put both babies down for the night around 9-10. Me/mom , and Mason/father, and Frankie/ brother were all in the bed while Aspen had been asleep in her bassinet. Sometime through the night, me/mom woke up to Aspen hungry and just needing to feed. So, as any parent would, I got up, checked her diaper, and started to feed her. In this particular time, I was breastfeeding. Picking her up to feed, thinking absolutely nothing of it, during the time of me feeding Aspen, I had fallen asleep at some point, not even realizing how tired I had been. Around 4:30-5 AM on 07/31/25, exactly 3 weeks after our girl was born, I woke back up and felt something in my stomach was very off. When I checked back up on my girl, she wasn’t herself! My precious girl had been in her last stages, it had looked like, of life. When paramedics showed up, they did CPR and tried every tactic they could to help our baby girl. Hurtfully, we and they did not make it in enough time. At the time of her declared 'passing,' officers were very apprehensive about telling us where she was and what was happening with her. Once detectives came, we were then told she had officially been declared 'deceased' and that she was heading to the coroner's for an autopsy, a sentence no mother or father EVER wants to hear.
This is a difficult choice to make because I wish I could just give it all to my baby girl, but we are needing help covering her funeral and cremation expenses. Anything truly does help.️
