Aspen, our beautiful daughter, entered this world far earlier than expected at just 29 weeks. From her very first breath, she has been fighting. Just 10 days after she was born, we were told she had E. coli meningitis—a diagnosis no parent is ever prepared to hear. Since that moment, our lives have been filled with uncertainty, fear, and countless prayers… but through it all, Aspen has shown us a strength we didn’t know was possible in someone so small.
She is now approaching five months old, and every single day with her is a blessing we hold onto tightly. Aspen continues to fight in ways that inspire us, even on the hardest days. But recently, our hearts were tested again. On March 7, 2026, Aspen became critically ill with pneumonia, and we came terrifyingly close to losing her. No words can truly describe the fear of almost saying goodbye to your child. For Aspen, even the smallest infection can become life-threatening, and that reality is something we now live with every day.
Her journey is far from over. Aspen’s medical needs are complex and ongoing—she depends on specialized equipment, therapies, and constant care just to keep moving forward. As much as we want to focus only on loving her and being present, the weight of the financial strain continues to grow. Being by her side in the hospital every day brings additional costs—parking, meals, and basic necessities—with no clear end in sight.
As her parent, all I want is to give Aspen every chance, every comfort, and every bit of support she deserves. She has fought so hard to be here, and we will never stop fighting for her. But we cannot do this alone.
If you feel moved to support Aspen in any way, please know that it will go directly toward her care—her treatments, her therapies, and simply allowing us to stay by her side during this critical time. And if you’re unable to give, your prayers, your thoughts, and even sharing her story mean more than we can ever express.
Thank you for opening your heart to Aspen. Thank you for standing with us. And most of all, thank you for helping us continue this fight for our little girl, who has already overcome so much and continues to show us what true strength looks like.
