Support for Ashley's Recovery: Helping a Veteran's Family

Dear Friends, Family, and Community,

I am reaching out with a heavy heart to share the devastating news about my beloved nephew Jake and his incredible wife Ashley. Jake, a proud Marine veteran, and Ashley, the kindest soul with an unbreakable spirit, are a young family just beginning their journey together. They recently moved into a new home and are raising their precious nine-month-old daughter, Snow.

On the morning of July 1st, tragedy struck. Around 9:52 am, Ashley’s SUV collided with a semi-truck in a horrific accident. The collision caused her vehicle to become pinned under the trailer and dragged for 100 feet before coming to a stop. The severity of the impact required multiple emergency services to respond, including Darke County Deputies, Greenville Township Fire and Rescue, and CareFlight. Englewood Towing had to lift the trailer off her SUV before she could be extricated.

Ashley was rushed to a level 1 trauma center with life-threatening injuries and underwent surgery all day yesterday. She sustained multiple serious injuries and almost lost her hand. Thankfully, the doctors managed to save it, but we are still uncertain about the extent of the damage. Jake is utterly devastated, and little Snow needs her parents to be strong and healthy to guide her as she grows up.
