Support for Ashley Schorzmann

On March 27, 2022 Ashley was at home rocking her sweet daughter to sleep when she suddenly developed severe back pain that progressed to lower extremity numbness and weakness. She was taken to the ER, where an angiogram showed a spinal arteriovenous fistula (AVF) which had ruptured. The AVF was likely congenital (present since birth) in nature. The bleeding was stopped with embolization of the vessels, and she later underwent spinal surgery to help relieve the pressure to the spinal cord created by the hematoma. She is now recovering in the hospital, and in true Ashley fashion, is looking forward with hope to being able to return to all her duties as an amazing 4th grade teacher, selfless mom/wife/sister/daughter, and loyal friend (always ready with a witty pun to make you smile.)

As she continues to heal from the surgery over the next few days/weeks, we're hopeful that sensation and movement will return to her lower body as swelling goes down. Ashley will likely have a long road ahead of intense physical and occupational therapy, and it's unknown when she'll be able to return to work. Please help support Ashley, Adam, and Della during this extremely difficult time- any donations will go straight to them to help cover medical expenses, time away from work without pay, things they need while in the hospital, etc. They also appreciate any prayers for healing at this time.
