With heavy hearts, we share that Gaylord passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of March 7.

Ashley was by his side for his last moments, holding his hand and surrounding him with love and prayer. She was able to tell him what we all know to be true. That he is a wonderful father, loyal friend, and deeply loving husband. She reassured him that because of the love and community he built, they are surrounded by an army of support looking after his girls.

Gaylord lived his life with extraordinary devotion to his family, his friendships, his work, and to showing up fully for the people he loved. Whether as a husband, father, friend, or colleague, he gave his whole heart. Those who knew him felt his generosity, loyalty, and steady presence in every part of life.

Ashley, Delaila, and Thylane are surrounded by an incredible community who loves them deeply. The outpouring of support over these past days has been profoundly felt by the family. For those who have asked how to support them during this time, this fundraiser has been created to help Ashley and the girls navigate the months ahead. Your kindness, whether through sharing the fundraiser or contributing if you are able, means more than words can express.

A memorial service open to all to celebrate Gaylord’s life will be held on March 22 at 2:30pm at The Paradox Church, 900 W Belknap St., Fort Worth, TX 76102. To honor Gaylord’s life and spirit, guests are welcome to incorporate his favorite color, yellow into their attire for the day. A separate invitation will be extended for a small gathering of family and close friends following the service.
