Hi, my name is Wendy Haverlack. I am a cousin in law to Arty. (My husband Frank is his first cousin.) Arty’s sister Heather is married to my brother. I offered to set up this GoFundMe account to support Arty in this devastating turn of events.

On Saturday, August 7, 2021 in Sturgis, South Dakota, Arty was in a very serious motorcycle accident. He has lost both left limbs. He also broke vertebrae in his back. As we know more, we will update this page.

Arty will have a long road to recovery. I know he is a very modest man and would never ask for help. So, let’s help him as best we can. I’m sure his medical bills and living expenses over the next months and years will do better with some help by everyone.

Heather Giel, Arty’s sister, is providing authorization for Wendy to withdraw funds to put in the Cortland  “Support for Arty Auth” bank account.
