Support for Arlene’s Surgery Journey

Join us in supporting Arlene Reid of Glenhaven Greenhouses, and her husband Glenn, during Arlene’s surgery journey!

In May, after a sudden onset of unexplained pain in her right side, doctors found that Arlene was dealing with epiploic appendagitis, a rare but non-life threatening condition that causes colon inflamation and intense pain. This condition, though uncomfortable, will resolve itself over time.

While doctors were doing tests, they also found a mass on Arlene’s left ovary. While it is not certain whether or not the mass is cancer, Arlene is scheduled to have surgery on June 9th at UVA.

Her doctor is glad to have detected the mass early and feels she has a great chance of a full recovery. Depending on post-surgical testing, she may or may not need further treatment.

 

Because of the timing of the surgery, Arlene will have to close her business, Glenhaven Greenhouses, in Broadway, VA, earlier than usual and is unable to work at her second job at RMH during her recovery.

Many of us cannot imagine the spring without Glenhaven Greenhouses and Arlene’s smile brightening up a day. She has given to our community in so many ways, now this is a way for us to bless her back!
