Support for Anthony to beat cancer
Donation protected
Hi my name is Britt and I am starting this fundraiser for my brilliant brother-in-law, Anthony. Anthony graduated from University of Michigan with a degree in medicine. After a surgical internship there, he was accepted into his surgical residency program in Fargo, North Dakota. He is now in his third year of residency, but last year his journey took a very unexpected turn. In January of 2023, we received the devastating and extremely scary news that Anthony was diagnosed with metastatic testicular cancer.
Anthony was remarkably strong and brave throughout his extensive treatment, which included two surgeries and chemotherapy. After his last surgery in August of 2023, we were hopeful that the cancer was treated. However, we found out last month that this is a battle he is still fighting. His cancer has returned and he will soon need to undergo high-dose chemotherapy and a receive a bone marrow transplant.
Even in the midst of recurrent cancer, Anthony has been working 100 hour weeks; studying, teaching, and training other surgeons. But this won’t be possible during his next round of chemotherapy. He will need to take a significant amount of time off of work to allow his body to heal after the type of chemotherapy he will be receiving.
All funds raised will go towards paying for treatments and to help alleviate the financial burden of this time off that he is forced to take. Not only that, but it will also give him the emotional support he needs to keep fighting, knowing that he has each of us standing beside him, cheering him on.
Anthony has given up everything, sacrificing time with friends and family, even moving across the country to follow his dream of helping others through the practice of medicine. Please help me encourage him to fight this battle, so he can get back to his dream of helping others by finishing his education and becoming a practicing surgeon.
Any amount you are able to give will be so appreciated — even $2 would make a tremendous difference and bring a smile to his face. And if you aren’t able to give financially, would you please consider sharing so that others can hear his story?
Thank you for taking the time to read this, your financial contributions, thoughts, prayers, and for sharing. We appreciate your support so very much!
