Support for Annie, my Tough As Nails Mama

My name is Danielle and I almost lost my Mom, Annie, last week. What was a routine tooth extraction became a life-threatening infection culminating in a weeks-long emergency hospital stay in North Florida with multiple surgeries and a flurry of infectious disease specialists.

 

Annie just came out of her latest emergency surgery and seems to be turning a corner. Her lungs began shutting down, straining her heart and she has one more heart surgery if she can kick this infection.

For those of you who know my tough-as-nails Mama, she’s fighting with all of her might to get better and back to her pups.

 

For the first time, my Mom has health insurance so thankfully it seems her cascading medical expenses will be limited. She will, however, be out of work as a hairstylist for the foreseeable future.

 

Her daughter, Nicolette, and her sister, Nancy, have traveled from south Florida and Washington state to provide care for my Mom in the weeks and months ahead. While they’ve asked for nothing for this radical act of kindness, these funds will help all of them cover living expenses while supporting her recovery.

They don’t know I’m seeking this help to support their loving on-the-ground assistance, but any help you can provide will surely ease all of their stress in helping my Mama get back on her feet.
