Planning a Burial Instead of a 40th Birthday Trip to Thailand

Angela was sometimes shy and soft spoken, but her kind, sweet soul shined through.  She had a huge heart and always lent a helping hand to family and friends alike.  Angela was a Disney and K-Pop fanatic and enjoyed making knitted gifts for those she cherished.  She loved celebrating life and spending time with loved ones, whether it was a day at Disneyland or a walk in the park.

Angela was raised in the South Bay and graduated from North Torrance High School and California State University, Dominguez Hills.  She worked at Toyota Financial Services for several years and decided to relocate with the company when they moved to Texas.  We all know she was sad to leave her family and friends, but she was so excited to start her new life as a Texan.

After moving, Angela started planning a trip to Thailand for her 40th Birthday. Angela’s dreams of visiting her ancestral roots in Thailand were set aside when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.  She was a quiet soldier and was so determined to fight this disease in order to take that big trip to Thailand as soon as she was well.  Angela moved back to the South Bay for treatment and fought hard.  She underwent surgery and chemotherapy, and things were looking up.  Eventually she returned to Texas, but as many cancer warriors and their allies know, cancer is unpredictable and can be relentless.

Angela moved back to the South Bay last fall for treatment and continued her fight.  Unfortunately, Angela passed away on the evening of February 4, 2021.  We are still in shock and don’t quite understand how this beautiful person was taken from us so soon.

Angela was survived by her parents, David and Supha and her sister, Rachel.  Your love and support of the Benveniste Family is of utmost need during this difficult time.  Instead of Angela planning her big trip, her family is planning her burial.  Final expenses are not something that someone so young would plan for, and that is why we are kindly asking family, friends and our community for their help.  Donations will assist the Benveniste family with the cost of her burial and for a future celebration of life event.  Due to the pandemic, funeral services will be private.  Angela was unable to see extended family and friends, but we hope that we can gather soon to honor and celebrate her life.

Thank you very much in advance for your support! We kindly ask that if you cannot donate monetarily to please consider sharing this link on your social media accounts or with family and friends.

With love and appreciation,
