Hi, my name is Lauren and I’m hoping to raise money for my very good friend and babysitter, Andrea and her family.
Andrea and her family are the kindest family and are a huge part of my life and my children. Andrea has kept my son for me since he was just a few months old and she has helped me in the toughest times with food, diapers, and never says no to watching my son when I need her to.
But… there are moments in life when everything feels uncertain, when even the strongest families find themselves facing challenges they never imagined. This is one of those moments for my best friend and her family.
They are a loving family of six—two devoted parents doing everything they can to raise their children with stability, kindness, and hope. But right now, they are facing something no family should have to endure alone. After months of tirelessly searching for work, her husband has been unable to secure a job, despite his determination and willingness to do whatever it takes to provide for his family.
When I talk to Andrea she tells me how he’s filled out so many applications that they can’t even keep track of how much. We all know it’s difficult to get a job in Yuma, too. Even I have had trouble, to the point I had to use a staffing agency. Her husband has been to many interviews but they end up going with someone else.
The weight of financial strain has grown heavier. Bills have piled up, savings have been stretched beyond their limits, and now they are facing the very real and frightening possibility of losing their home. Also, it doesn’t seem they will be approved for food assistance either. Bills may not be able to be covered next month either.
This family is not asking for luxuries—only for a chance to breathe, to regain their footing, and to keep a roof over their children’s heads. They are fighters, full of love and resilience, but even the strongest people need support sometimes.
If you are able, any contribution—no matter how small—can help keep this family together in their home and give them the time they need to get back on their feet. And if you can’t give, sharing their story means just as much.
Thank you for taking a moment to care.
