We are assisting someone who has been severely struggling with their mental health and has not been able to properly care for their beloved cat, and we need to get her to the vet to remove severe matting. The veterinarian has advised that she will need to be sedated for the grooming because she is older, and they also want to run blood work to ensure there are no underlying infections or health issues. The estimated cost to cover these procedures is a little over $500. We are asking for $700 so we can also have her bathed during the visit and cover a couple of follow-up baths to help keep her clean and comfortable. We do not want to separate her from the only human she has ever known, so a small group of us have come together to donate money and time to assist this floof. We will be consistently checking on her and grooming her ourselves to makes sure she doesn't get this bad again. Mental health is serious, and sometimes people only need a bit of support so they can continue caring for their fur baby rather than having them taken away so this was our best solution for everyone with the animals needs more importantly in mind.
