Support for Amy's Final Journey
Donation protected

My name is Lindsey Brickhouse and I’m the oldest of four siblings. We have been faced with a difficult situation at a young age: our Mom is currently dying of SCLC that has metastasized to her liver and some bones. This is our only living parent as we buried our father in 2019.
Here’s a little back story:
Our mom, Amy, had a cold that she could not get rid of from April to July 2024. After many doctor appointments that put her on antibiotics for treatment, she finally went to a local emergency room after she developed shortness of breath and lost 15 pounds. On July 13, 2024, Mom had a CT scan that found tumors in her lungs and various other places that were suspicious for cancer. On July 26, 2024, she had a biopsy of the largest tumor in her lungs. This confirmed our horrible suspicions of one of the worst cancers you can have: small cell lung cancer.
She has been treated ECU HEALTH Medical Center Oncology since August of 2024. She tried several different chemo options, some radiation and a new immunotherapy treatment. There has been so many prayers said over Mom, all of her children, her cancer and her caretakers! After multiple side effects, several hospitalizations and a stroke, it was determined the cancer was very aggressive and stopped responding to chemotherapy. Mom decided to stop treatment and moved to Hospice.
We are asking for donations for:
- funeral arrangements
- final burial services
Please keep us in your thoughts as we try to navigate this whole process with our Mom and her declining health.
We’re asking for prayers for:
- comfort our good Lord can only provide
- understanding for all those involved
- Mom to be pain-free as she transitions
- her to ready to meet our Savior!
We appreciate everyone’s prayers, donations, text messages, calls, visits, labors of love and most of all, kindness to our family during this difficult time in our life.
