Amy Austin was tragically killed on July 12 alongside a dear friend, May Daiber, as they were crossing the street on a night out in Milwaukee. The driver of a black SUV that was racing another vehicle at the time hit them and drove off. As police work to find the person responsible, the families of both women are in shock and experiencing unimaginable grief.
This fundraiser is a chance for those who were blessed to know her to support her family through this difficult time and to assist not only with end-of-life expenses, but any potential lingering medical expenses from her cancer journey, too.
Anyone who has known Amy knows the light she brought to this world, teaching many around her lessons in joy and resilience throughout her life, which included a long and challenging battle against ovarian cancer. Amy loved her family, her friends, and her fur babies with everything she had—and then some. She was a pool shark to be reckoned with and loved her Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers in a way that can't be overstated.
Whatever your experience with Amy was, whether family or friend, high school acquaintance, or stranger turned friend at a bar, please share your fond memories with her in the comments below to comfort those who are lost in Amy's absence.
Thank you.
Update/About the organizer: I'm Amy's cousin, Ashley. While I am organizing this fundraiser, 100% of all proceeds will go directly to Amy's mother, Bonnie Miller, as the beneficiary.
