We just found out our Sheltie of 8 years, who helped me survive my stroke, so I am VERY indebted to her. Unfortunately, she now has an infection that started as a UTI, then spread to her kidneys, and based on blood work, spread to the pancreas. She has a good chance of recovery, but unfortunately, it requires in-vet daily treatments and monitoring. Here first visit and blood work was almost $700... The test to determine what infection it is, fluids, and initial antibiotics are $900, and the treatments to address the infection are about $800. We don't know how many days yet. If we have extra money after she is cured, we will donate it for other animals.
She is so important to us and we just lost her sister a few weeks ago... Unfortunately, I got laid off for almost 8 months, which has drained all our savings and put us behind on all our bills. I am back working, but it will be months, if not years, before we have this much extra money. Normally, I wouldn't ask, but she is so important to our family's well-being, and this is very unexpected and unfortunately urgent.
We appreciate any help you can give...
