Amber Metcalf and her family are facing one of the hardest battles of their lives, and they need the support of their community during this difficult time. Amber is going to be undergoing treatment for a very rare and serious medical condition that has caused multiple tumors in her brain and a tumor in her lung. Her medical team at UNC Health has created an aggressive treatment plan to give her the best chance possible and prevent further complications.

Amber will begin an intense 6 week treatment schedule, traveling to Chapel Hill Monday through Friday for daily CyberKnife radiation treatments. During this time, she will need a hotel or temporary apartment near the hospital to make daily treatments possible. Following this 6 weeks, she is expected to continue ongoing IV treatments every two weeks for years to follow.

This journey is putting a major financial strain on the Metcalf family. Amber will be at UNC for weekly treatments, while James stays home to care for their children. The costs of lodging, travel, gas, meals, medical expenses, and regular household bills are quickly adding up. The funds raised will help ease this burden, allowing Amber and her family to focus on her health and their time together.
