Support for Alyona`s Family
Donation protected
Friends, family and wider community, we are reaching out today with an urgent call for help. Our dear friend and her family have unexpectedly found themselves in a grave situation, and are in desperate need of relief.
Alyona Guseva, a young single mom who lives in Staten Island with her beautiful two sons and elderly mom. Alyona is a very amicable, fun, positive, brave, and beautiful woman who always worked hard to support her sons and mom.
This year, misfortune struck their beautiful family, and not just once. Earlier this year, Alyona’s elderly mother was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. Alyona spent a lot of time helping her mom to fight such difficult cancer and recovering after radiation and surgery.
While Alyona was busy taking care of her sick mother, she stayed positive and strong, working and taking care of her family despite her own failing health. Alyona started having agonizing headaches followed by loss of awareness, memory and eventually ability to eat or drink, inhibiting her ability to care of herself or her sick mother and children. Alyona was quickly diagnosed with a brain tumor and immediately had to undergo two major brain surgeries to remove the rapidly growing tumor.
Luckily, her surgery was successful, however, as with any major brain surgery, she has a long recovery period, during which she is primarily bedridden and cannot work or provide care for her family. Due to the invasiveness of the surgery, she will not be able to return to work even after her recovery and intends to apply for federal benefits, however, this process can take months on end, yet her family’s daily functions cannot be put on hold.
Alyona and her mom are still very sick, and through it all, Alyona remains in high spirits. Her family and friends are diligently working to help take care of Alyona and her family, yet the pressures are overwhelming. Alyona used to take care of her family by herself and she feels conflicted about accepting help even during this difficult time, so we decided to create this Go Fund Me Page, because in our experiences we found that funding can be more useful than anything else in times of difficulty, as it can be put towards bills, medicine, simple groceries, or any other pressing need the family has. Her younger son returned to elementary to school, and the family cannot risk to be evicted from their rented apartment for unpaid bills.
No one can ever anticipate such misfortune, yet when such a dark cloud looms, it is heartwarming to know that we are all interconnected and supportive. Alyona was always selfless, so we ask that others extend the hand that she always extended to those around us.
We appreciate any help or contribution, no matter how big or small. The smallest contribution can make a great difference for Alyona’s family, and their future depends on it.
If possible, please share our campaign link on social media (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and with your friends.
Thank you for reading Alyona’s family story. Please pray with us for them.
