We are a family of four from Altadena, and on the night of Jan 7th, we lost our entire home in the Eaton Fire. The evacuation order came so suddenly that we barely had time to grab our kids, let alone anything else. In a matter of moments, everything we had—our belongings, our memories, our sense of security—was gone. Now, we’re doing our best to make sense of this new reality.
Our two boys, ages 2 and 8, are incredibly sweet and resilient, but it’s been so hard to see them struggle to understand what’s happened. They miss their toys, their favorite bedtime books, and the comfort of their own rooms. As parents, it breaks our hearts that we can’t give them that stability right now. Instead, we’re trying to find the strength to hold it together for them while we figure out how to rebuild our lives.
We’ve never had to ask for help like this before, but we’re in a place where we need the support of our community. Any donations would go directly to helping us with the essentials—food, clothing, supplies for our boys, and the basic necessities we need to begin piecing things back together.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for taking the time to read this and for considering helping us during the most difficult moment of our lives. Your kindness and generosity mean more than we could ever put into words, and they give us hope that we’ll get through this, one step at a time. Thank you.
