My name is Skye Harris, and I am a lifelong friend of Tori, Alliyah’s mother.

I am organizing this GoFundMe on behalf of Tori and our family during this incredibly painful and overwhelming time.

Alliyah’s passing was sudden and completely unexpected, and no family is ever prepared for a loss like this—emotionally or financially. The funds raised through this GoFundMe will go directly toward funeral and memorial expenses, as well as providing support for Alliyah’s son, Draiko, as the family begins navigating life without her.

In Loving Memory of Alliyah La’Chelle Smith

It is with profound sorrow that we share the heartbreaking loss of Alliyah La’Chelle Smith, age 24, who passed away suddenly on December 22nd. Alliyah was a beloved daughter, granddaughter, mother, sister, and friend. Her presence brought light, love, and meaning to everyone who had the blessing of knowing her.

Alliyah lived with epilepsy and faced her condition with quiet strength, courage, and resilience. Though her journey was not always easy, she never allowed her illness to define her spirit. She carried herself with a gentle soul, a warm heart, and a deep love for her family and friends. She fought hard every single day.

Despite multiple medical interventions and precautions, including managing three different types of seizures—grand mal, pseudo, and petit mal—and the placement of a Vagus Nerve Stimulator (VNS) in hopes of preventing further seizures, her condition remained difficult to control. Tragically, her life was taken far too soon.

Above all else, Alliyah was a devoted and loving mother to her precious son, Draiko Da’Jaun Smith, who was the center of her world and the greatest joy of her life. Her love for him was fierce, unconditional, and unwavering—a love that will continue to live on through him always.

This unexpected loss has left her family devastated and facing emotional and financial hardship. We are raising funds to help cover funeral and memorial expenses, provide support for Draiko’s care and future needs, and ease the burden on Alliyah’s mother, Tori, during this unimaginably painful time.
