Support for Alison and Liam

On Saturday, December 21, 2019, David Daniel Maron died tragically and suddenly in Baltimore, leaving his young wife Alison Newcomer Maron (Ali) and their five year old son Liam without any resources. In support of their shared future, Ali just completed a doctorate and was studying to take the exam for licensure as a clinical psychologist in Maryland, while David worked full time at the VA as the sole earner for the family. Like so many millennial couples working their way up, they had no savings.

With the loss of David, Ali needs enough resources to support herself and her son until she can become a licensed psychologist and support her family on her own, a process that will take 10 to 12 months. Without a doubt, if Ali can achieve these goals in the coming year, she and her son will succeed. She completed her PhD at Catholic University ‘with distinction’ and has a sure path to employment and financial independence as a child psychologist. It is clear how resilient and strong of heart Ali is, even in the face of tragic loss, and how present she is for Liam.   

Ali is being comforted by family and close friends who have provided love, security, and immediate support, but to surmount this tragedy – complete her licensure, protect her son and become a successful single mother – she desperately needs help with housing, food, transportation, and child care in the short run. Above all, though the loss of her home will be a casualty of her husband’s death, she is trying to keep her son in the same school to minimize the trauma of his father’s passing. All funds contributed will support these essential needs.
