Support for Alicia's Children
Donation protected
With heavy hearts, we share the news that Alicia Dignam, a courageous and loving mother of two boys, passed away on July 27, 2024 at the young age of 45. Alicia’s life was marked by extraordinary resilience and strength as she battled numerous health challenges with unwavering determination.
From the age of 8, Alicia fought Type-1 diabetes, demonstrating incredible perseverance. In 2013, she was diagnosed with melanoma, which she bravely fought into remission for 8 years. However, in 2015, she faced another hurdle with a rare condition called Castleman’s disease, requiring surgery to remove a tumor from behind her stomach.
In 2021, Alicia’s health took another turn as the melanoma returned along with another added diagnosis of leukemia. After enduring high doses of chemotherapy which led to a three-week coma with doctors uncertain of her survival, Alicia defied the odds and made it through! She received a life-saving bone marrow transplant in 2022, which put her leukemia into remission. Sadly, despite her relentless fight to beat the leukemia, the melanoma progressed rapidly, leading to her untimely passing.
Alicia was a devoted mother to Tito(15) and Germaine(11), and her primary concern was always their well-being and future. In the wake of her loss, our goal is to ensure that her children and their grandparents, who are both retired, are supported and provided for.
This GoFundMe campaign is created to help cover:
- Educational expenses: Providing for the boys schooling and extracurricular activities.
- Daily needs: Assisting their grandparents with essential costs such as housing, utilities, and groceries.
- Emotional support: Offering counseling and support to help them navigate their grief.
We appreciate any support you can offer, whether through a donation, by sharing this campaign with friends.
