It is with very heavy hearts that we share the tragic and sudden passing of Ancil Clancy, a beloved husband, father, brother, and cornerstone of the Maui community. On a weekend outing, Ancil suffered heart failure while Enduro Dirt Biking — a devastating loss at just 39 years old. He leaves behind his cherished wife, Alicia, and their radiant daughter, Aurora, who are now facing the unimaginable — life without their rock, their protector, their patriarch.

A Legacy Rooted in Maui

Ancil lived on Maui for over 20 years and was not just a resident — he was a steward of the land, a cultivator of community, and a quiet giant whose impact rippled across the island.

As an astute and deeply respected farmer, Ancil brought life and abundance to farms across Maui, including Ue Wai Farms, Hali'imaile Farms, and O'o Farms, among many others. Farmers relied on his wisdom and trusted his hands to tend their land with the same care he gave his own family.

Ancil was also a revered coffee aficionado — an expert who judged island coffee competitions and consulted for countless farms, sharing his deep-rooted knowledge with generosity and humility. He shaped the taste and standards of Maui’s coffee scene in ways that will echo for generations.

His reach extended even beyond the fields. Ancil supported local restaurants with staffing and cultural guidance, always advocating for respect, inclusivity, and harmony in every workplace he touched.
