Alicia is a beautiful and brave soul who lives with her childhood sweetheart James and their son Jacob, born in 2010.
Throughout her life, she has been managing the challenges of Type 1 diabetes and it has been difficult but stable. However in recent years some complications have arisen from her condition.
In July 2019, Alicia had to face the inconceivable challenge of having one of her legs amputated, and there were a lot of complications to follow. She has had multiple surgeries and has been in and out of hospital regularly.
Unfortunately in April 2024 she had to face her toughest challenge yet, to have her remaining leg amputated, leaving her a double amputee.
Although necessary for her survival, it is a terribly difficult time for her and her family.
While she has a wonderful and supportive partner, some caring school friends have banded together to raise funds to help ease their burdens somewhat.
We would love to treat them to a nice weekend away or for Alicia to have some special pampering to lift her spirits. They may even use the funds simply to ease the financial burdens of chronic ill health.
We often don’t stop to think about how lucky we are to have our health and all the blessings we take for granted each day.
Why not take time to contribute and in doing so shine a little light on this loving mother and her gorgeous family.
It would mean the world to them.
