On January 18, 2026, beloved husband and father Alfonso Vargas Camacho passed away at Holy Cross Hospital in the presence of his immediate family. He is survived by his loving wife, and his three daughters, Alejandra Vargas, Alondra Vargas, and Andrea Vargas. While he had been sick for some time, his passing was sudden and unexpected for all of us, it has been extremely difficult to come to terms with, however, we know in our hearts that he is out of all suffering and with God.
Our father was always a strong, humble man and a massive pillar in our lives. His health began to rapidly decline in late 2024 when he was diagnosed with anemia. Over time, the anemia severely weakened his body. Combined with his long-term battle with diabetes, it became extremely difficult for him to fight off illness.
When he developed pneumonia, his condition continued to worsen. Years of smoking had caused advanced lung disease, which further complicated his recovery. Despite treatment, his body was unable to respond, and doctors ultimately had to place him on a ventilator when he could no longer breathe on his own. After hours of intensive care, we were devastatingly informed that he was not going to recover. We were faced with the most difficult decision of our lives: to remove him from life support and allow him to pass peacefully and end his suffering.
Our father, Alfonso, had a big personality. He was incredibly talented, hardworking, intelligent, and always loved to crack a joke. Whenever he entered a room, he made sure that everyone felt as though they were with a good friend rather than a stranger. He adored horses and loved going to the horse racetracks, had a deep respect and appreciation for nature, and always found joy in music. He especially loved Mexican mariachi music and was never afraid to share his beautiful voice. He loved to sing and reminisce on his early journey as a singer and an artist. His presence filled any room, and his laughter and music will forever live in our hearts.
During this incredibly difficult time, our family is asking for help to cover funeral and memorial expenses, along with the medical costs from his final days. Any donation, no matter the amount, will help us honor our father Alfonso’s life and lay him to rest with the respect, dignity, and love he deserves. If you are unable to donate, we truly appreciate you sharing this page and keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers.
We thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, love, and support during this heartbreaking time.
