Alex Kraemer, my nephew’s son, has faced more than his share of hardship. He has lived with childhood diabetes and Addison’s disease for years, and his family’s faith has been their anchor through every trial—including the heartbreaking loss of Alex’s mother to diabetes when he was young. Their love for the Lord and each other has carried them through so much, and now they are facing another unimaginable challenge.
Recently, Alex was airlifted to Pittsburgh Presbyterian Hospital after a severe drop in blood sugar led to a seizure. Doctors discovered a bleed in his brain, and he has since undergone multiple procedures. Tragically, Alex suffered what mimicked a stroke that has affected the right side of his body, and while the cause is still being determined, diabetes has not been ruled out as a contributing factor. He is now showing signs of regaining mobility on both sides of his body. Through it all, Alex’s family has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of prayers and support from friends, churches, and even strangers across the country.
Alex is a hardworking young man, putting himself through HVAC school while working part-time. Now, as he faces a long road to recovery, his family is asking for help for the first time. The costs of medical care, travel are already mounting. The upcoming therapies , and in-home care will significantly impact them financially. We are so grateful for any prayers, donations or shares to help Alex and his family through this incredibly difficult time. Your support means more than words can say.
