Support for Alec Whidden and his family
Donation protected
On the evening of April 27, our cousin’s 22 year old son Alec was a passenger in a horrific head-on collision on the Beaverbank Road, the truck he was travelling in was carrying a fuel tank, which caught fire during the accident. After being thrown from the truck, Alec suffered life-threatening injuries and burns to over 40% of his body.
He is currently in the care of the doctors and nurses in the intensive care unit. He has already undergone several skin grafts, medical and surgical procedures with many more to come. Unfortunately, this is just the tip of the iceberg and his family has been informed that they should expect Alec to spend the next 4 months in hospital. The full extent of treatment and next steps are unknown at this point, but we do know that there will be a long and challenging road ahead for both him and his family.
Their family is an incredibly loving and hardworking one income household and expenses are mounting quickly between the rising fuel costs as a result of travelling back and forth to the hospital every day, and meals while caring for their son in hospital. This is just the beginning for them. We are creating thisGoFundMe account to help our beautiful cousin’s family offset some of the financial burden, so they have one less thing to worry about in these very challenging next few months. If you are able, please consider donating to the lovely family, every little bit helps.
