For the last twe years, severe flooding of the Envira River caused serious inundations in the Katukina/Kaxinawá Indigenous Land, directly affecting Aldeia Xinã Bena, located in Feijó, in the state of Acre.
Families lost food supplies, crops, utensils, and part of their homes. Children, elders, and the entire community are now facing difficulties in rebuilding their houses and securing the basic necessities to live with dignity.
In addition, the flooding has compromised the community’s means of transportation. Access to the city to obtain food, medical care, and reconstruction materials depends exclusively on river transport.
Fundraising Goal:
- Reconstruction of homes
- Purchase of food and essential items
- Medicines and basic healthcare
- Support for the recovery of crops and food autonomy
Acquisition of a boat with a motor, essential to ensure safe transportation along the Envira River, access to healthcare services, purchase of supplies, and community mobility during periods of flooding and low water
The boat is not just a means of transportation - it is an essential tool for survival, safety, and autonomy for the village.
Indigenous and riverside communities are guardians of the forest and the rivers. Your contribution, of any amount, makes a real difference in rebuilding and strengthening this community.
