On April 9th, 2026, just before 7:00am in Appleton, WI, my parents, Margie Hopfensperger and Alan Hopfensperger, were involved in a devastating car accident at an intersection when another driver ran a red light and T-boned their car. The impact was so severe that their car rolled over and landed upside down. Both Margie and Alan are now in critical condition, each suffering from eight fractured ribs. Margie endured several cardiac arrests before even reaching the hospital, and she is currently unable to breathe on her own, relying on a ventilator. She also has a broken leg, a broken finger, and a brain bleed. Alan has a bruised shoulder and a deflated lung, adding to the immense challenges we are facing as a family.

The road ahead is uncertain and overwhelming. The medical bills are already piling up, and there are still household expenses that need to be managed while my parents are unable to work. The funds raised through this GoFundMe will go directly toward covering their medical payments and helping with other essential bills at home.
