Support for Alaina, Max, Jack, and Tony
Donation protected
In early November 2022, our friends Max Tsupko and Alaina Manchester found out that their youngest son, Tony, has a rare and fatal genetic disease.
Canavan disease causes neurological deterioration. Max and Alaina are currently trying to get Tony enrolled in one of the two Canavan disease studies happening right now; one study is in Dayton and the other is in Boston. This disease is so rare that there is not an abundance of research happening. Max, Alaina, Jack, and Tony may have to relocate temporarily to one of these places if they can get Tony enrolled. (Please pray that they are able to get him in the study!)
The travel required to get Tony's care in the coming years will cost quite a bit of money. We’re hoping that we can ease their minds with this GoFundMe. If we can hit our goal, we can help.
I know that we all love this family. Alaina is an endless fount of knowledge and talent, and she’s shared that for free throughout Dramashop’s entire existence. Although she has left Gannon University as a professor (in order to spend more time with her two kids), she spent several years there mentoring students and teaching them everything she knows.
Max is an incredibly kind, funny, and brilliant guy. If you’ve had the pleasure of meeting him, you know that he will tell you random facts about things you’ve never even considered. He’s an incredible husband to Alaina, and he’s an even better father to Jack and Tony. (And if you didn’t know, Jack is absolutely his mini-me!)
Most of us cannot even begin to imagine what it’s like to find out this devastating information about our babies. Most of us also feel compelled to do something - anything - to help this amazing family.
If you can contribute, it would be greatly appreciated. If you can’t, please send up your prayers and share this GoFundMe. Thank you, friends.
