I am a 39-year-old Air Force Veteran who proudly served for eight years. After becoming a single parent, I dedicated myself to building a secure life for my son with autism by working my way up the corporate ladder for ten years. However, in the summer of 2024, I began experiencing cardiac symptoms that made it difficult to work, leading to my unemployment in September 2024. Since then, my savings have been depleted, and unemployment benefits have been exhausted. With no further funds, my son and I are facing homelessness and the loss of all of our possessions.
