Hi Everyone, our family has just experienced a big loss.

Aida “Lucy” Luz Cruz, 74, passed away at Saint Marys Hospital in Waterbury, CT surrounded by her family on Friday Sept 19. Aida was born on Oct 22, 1950, the eldest of 13 children.

Born in Naguabo, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Luis Cruz and the late Rayda DeJesus. She started her family in Fajardo, PR and later moved to the US. Aida thoroughly enjoyed cooking authentic Puerto Rican cuisine - a true expert at making pasteles, alcapurria, arroz con dulce, tembleque, and much more. She also enjoyed gardening and serving God.

Aida is survived by a loving husband of 49 years, Mario Ramos, and her daughters, Lourdes Pantojas, Guadalupe Santiago, Ruby Cabrera, and Rayda Santiago. She is also survived by her three son-in-laws, 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, recently one great-great grandchild, and six brothers and five sisters. The family would like to personally thank her caregiver Maria Corsino, her church, pastor, her doctors, and the nursing team that was involved with her care.

Her loss was unexpected and we kindly ask for your help if possible to help us reach the amount needed for her funeral expenses.
