Ahmad Sannoh’s family is facing an unimaginable loss after his tragic passing. Ahmad was a beloved son, brother, and friend whose kindness and warmth touched everyone who knew him. Ahmad had a way of making everyone feel seen and special. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back and then joke about it afterward. His laughter filled every room, and his loyalty to his family was unwavering. In his final moments, he was doing what he always did, showing up for his mother by bringing groceries upstairs.
His absence has left a deep and lasting void in the lives of his family and community but your kind words of support have shown that he lived a life of impact that went beyond his home. Many of you have expressed a desire to help support his family during this difficult time.
In addition to planning his funeral, Ahmad’s parents and sisters are also trying to manage the realities of daily life without him. Their home is currently inaccessible, adding another layer of hardship during this already overwhelming time. After the funeral, his parents will need extended time away from work to support their children and begin healing. The emotional toll on the family is immense, and they will need ongoing access to grief and trauma counseling.
All funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward funeral costs, therapy, and basic needs for Ahmad’s parents and siblings. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help ease their burden and allow them to focus on healing and supporting one another. Please consider donating and sharing this fundraiser to support Ahmad’s family during this heartbreaking time.
Ahmad graduated from Bloomfield College in 2018 with a degree in Biology. Throughout his life he attended Arabic school on Sundays and learned how to recite the Quran. He loved playing basketball and showing off his rhyming skills. Most of all he loved his friends and family and could be counted on to show up to all gatherings big and small. Ahmad was a young black scientist, a religious scholar, a ball player, a son, a brother, a friend and more…he was so much more. We will all do our best to make sure he is remembered fondly. Thank you for contributing to the preservation of his legacy. Your generosity and kindness will make a meaningful difference.
