Support for Adriana Medical Emergency
Adriana Sanchez is just a normal 15-year-old girl! Loves being in her room, on her phone, hanging out with cousins and friends, and being goofy! On the Evening of June 7th that all changed. "Adi" was playing around in the pool at our Aunt's house when all of a sudden she didn't surface. After getting her out of the pool family immediately began CPR and calling 911. Adriana has had a pacemaker in due to an enlarged heart since she was very little. Doctors believe that the pacemaker malfunctioned and caused cardiac arrest. No one is quite sure how long her heart stopped but, it was long enough to cause severe brain damage.
Since that day Adi has spent her time in the hospital in an unconscious like state. She isn't in a coma but isn't awake either. She responds to pinpricks on her extremities and her body is producing urine, which are great signs. She has some muscle movements throughout the day, and occasionally her eyelids open just a bit. She is making progress but there is a long road ahead. Doctor's say she will need 24 hour care, likely, for the rest of her life.
Our family is devastated and praying for a miracle. We have faith that God has her and us exactly where he needs us, but we also know the importance of asking for help when needed. My sister Joann, Adriana's mother, will likely face many financial challenges as Adi transitions to home care. Joann just bought a home, had a newborn baby girl in February, and likely won't be able to return to work in the same capacity as before.
Any funds raised will go to help Joann cover costs related to Adriana's care, as well as help cover bills that may pile up due to Joann being out of work/unable to return to work in the same capacity. We aren't sure what the new normal will look like but we have faith that God works all things out for good!
If you can afford to donate our family will be forever grateful! If not please pray and share!
Thank you so much and God Bless!
