Support for Abraham’s ICU Recovery

My brother, Abraham Mendez Barron, is currently in the ICU in Tijuana, Mexico, fighting for his life. He has been struggling with depression and mental illness while away from his family, and recently swallowed a metal object that became lodged in his throat and windpipe. The situation was critical, and doctors gave him only a 10% chance of survival. Against the odds, Abraham survived the emergency surgery, and his windpipe and esophagus have been reconstructed.

However, his recovery is far from over. Abraham is now battling a serious bacterial infection, Acinetobacter baumannii, which is making his recovery even more difficult. Our mother is by his side in Mexico, unable to work, and our family is doing everything we can to support them. We send money whenever the doctors need to purchase new medications, but the costs are overwhelming, especially since Abraham does not have insurance and the general hospital lacks many resources.

It would mean the world to us to receive your support. We love our brother deeply and don't want to lose him. Our mother is alone with him in the hospital, and we can only visit for short periods. Any help you can give will make a difference for Abraham and our family during this incredibly difficult time. We appreciate all the support from the people with all my heart. Thank you for reading our story and for considering helping us.
