On Friday July 11th, our friends Abraham, Leah, and Daniel, along with Sadia, Abraham and Daniel's mother, fled their burning apartment and were lucky to survive.
Leah and Daniel escaped first, Abraham managed to save his mother and his dog Maximus, before running and jumping off the second floor balcony, catching fire in the process. After jumping from the balcony, Abraham made a citizen's arrest of the arsonist. Abraham has second degree burns, Abraham's mother has broken bones and second and third degree burns.
If you've met Abraham, Leah, Daniel, or Sadia, you know they're great human beings. Abraham is a school bus driver, Leah works in solar energy, and Daniel is engrained in the local Thai-boxing community. Sadia was planning to move back to Panama next month to be with her sisters, but now will likely be hospitalized for months.
Now they are homeless, and they lost the majority of their possessions.
They need funds to pay for housing, food, medical bills, and daily essentials, as well as to replace their clothing, furniture, home appliances, kitchen appliances, and all of their dog’s belongings.
Please donate to help our close friends and their family, anything you can give helps!
