Our daughter Abilene was born at the end of December 2025, arriving six weeks early. Shortly after her birth, she was diagnosed with Noonan syndrome after discovering she had severe Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. Soon she became dependent on a feeding tube and has been on many medications to try to control her heart condition but we have reached the point where she is being admitted until she can receive a heart transplant. She spent 57 days in the NICU, and since coming home, she has been readmitted to the hospital four times. These months have been incredibly challenging for our family as we adjust to her complex medical needs and the uncertainty that comes with them. These coming months waiting for her heart will present unthinkable challenges as we wait for her lifesaving surgery and try to be present both at the hospital for our daughter and at home for our three sons.
To support our daughter and help care for her three brothers, my husband has taken time away from work. While this has allowed our family to continue functioning during such an unpredictable time, it has also meant a significant loss of income. On top of that, the costs of medical care, frequent travel to and from the hospital, and daily living expenses have started to add up, pushing us into debt. We are doing everything we can to provide the best care for our daughter, but we are struggling to keep up with the financial burden.
We are reaching out for help from our community, friends, and anyone who feels moved by our story. Your support will help us pay for gas to and from the hospital, cover ongoing medical expenses, and give us a chance to recover from the last four months of lost income while preparing for the months ahead. Thank you so much for supporting our family as we navigate this challenging time.
