Abel Nieto is the oldest of my siblings and someone who has always put others before himself. Even now, as he faces end-stage liver failure, his first concern is for the well-being of his family and friends. Abel’s faith in God is unwavering, and he draws strength from his relationship with the Lord, believing that God has him in His tender care. He is a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend, and his love for his family, God and community is at the center of his life.

Recently, Abel’s health has taken a turn for the worse. His liver disease has now affected his kidneys, and he is battling a serious staph infection that requires urgent treatment. The costs of his medical care are mounting, and his wife is traveling daily from Pearsall to San Antonio to be by his side, all while facing unpaid leave from work. The financial strain is overwhelming, but Abel’s greatest wish is simply to have his loved ones close and not to be a burden to anyone.
