My dear father, Aadil Palkhivala, is facing stage four kidney cancer that has metastasized to his lungs and brain, with concern it may have spread further as well. This has been a deeply overwhelming and unexpected time for our family. Despite his remarkably healthy lifestyle, we have come to understand that cancer is a unique situation for each individual who experiences it. Though his holistic methods are likely what has kept him alive this long.
We are currently taking more invasive treatments as the cancer has become increasingly worse and spread rapidly. But it is definitely not easy nor inexpensive. So your financial support will give him a chance at recovery.
He lost the ability to move his left side entirely, it is completely limp, due to a tumor in the right side of his brain. Now with some new radiotherapy treatments there’s some slight movement again. Which is so reassuring. But because of this inability to move, he cannot continue his work; since his entire life’s work revolved around his ability to move as a yoga teacher. This is also a huge financial strain for him, and the family.
It seems the cancer developed due to a rare genetic component and airplane elements that have been deemed carcinogenic, additionally COVID made this ten times worse. We also believe that the loss of his mother was the tipping point emotionally that made this all come to light so quickly, which many of you will understand.
As many of you know, he is one of the grandfathers of yoga in the west and has dedicated his life to spreading the knowledge of authentic yoga-asana, philosophy, and an abundant lifestyle across the globe, supporting countless lives for over 50 years. We are doing everything we can to ensure he receives proper medical attention, safety, and comfort, but due to the complexity of his condition, we would greatly appreciate any insights, resources, treatment options, specialist referrals, or prayers that may help. We want to give him the best possible care, preserve his dignity, and surround him with the same love he has so freely given to others.
