Our Family’s Fight: Honoring the Bravest Woman I Know!

In July 2025, my mother came to the United States to help support our family while I serve in the United States Marine Corps. In August 2025, we moved (PCS) to Okinawa, Japan so I could continue my duties and our children could grow up with both parents close by. Just three weeks after we arrived, everything changed. Our family was involved in a severe moto vehicle accident. In those first frantic moments, my injuries did not prevent me from performing CPR on my mother, and fighting to keep her with us. She never regained consciousness. She suffered a traumatic brain injury, a stroke, and multiple rib fractures. Because of the seriousness of her condition, she was medically evacuated to Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she has undergone multiple surgeries. Today, she remains in a comatose state, and every day is a fight for even the smallest sign of awareness. We are asking for help because she does not have insurance, and the cost of long-term, specialized care is more than our family can carry alone. This fundraiser is to help cover her long-term care, and ongoing rehabilitation—so she has the best possible chance to recover and so we can keep showing up for her and our children.
Your donation will go directly toward:
- Long-term rehabilitation and specialized care.
- Transportation and lodging for family as we support her care.
- Daily living expenses while we navigate this crisis.
We’re trying to: Secure the specialized long-term care and rehabilitation she needs;  manage the travel and living costs that come with extended medical treatment far from home; and reduce the financial pressure so we can focus on her healing and on caring for our children.
About My Mother: She's is the kind of person who shows up—no questions asked. She has always put family first. She is kind, courageous, and resilient, and she has touched many lives through her generosity and love. She traveled to be here for us during a challenging season, and now we are trying to be here for her in the hardest season of our lives.
About Our Family: I’m currently serving in the United States Marine Corps, devoted to duty and family. My spouse and our children are doing their best to keep life steady for the younger ones while we cope with the uncertainty of my mother’s condition. We are holding onto hope and taking this one day at a time. If You Can’t Donate We understand—truly. You can still help by:
