I am a transgender American who has been without stable work for 10 months. Bills are piling up, my car needs repairs, and I feel like I'm suffocating.
Each day gets harder (debt collectors calling me, and my unemployment insurance rescinding my eligibility/requiring me to give all the money they supported me with back), and the uncertainty of not knowing when I’ll find stable employment again weighs heavily on me.
The stress of mounting bills and the worry that my car will need more expensive repairs the longer I wait to take it to the shop (which is essential for daily life and job searching) is crushing me. I've applied to hundreds of positions, gotten exactly two interviews out of it, and no job offers. Side work isn't enough anymore. I need help.
Any funds received will go directly toward car repairs, helping me keep my vehicle running so I can continue the little work I can do to support myself. Anything after that will help me bring my bills down to a more reasonable level, so I can focus more on job-seeking.
It’s terribly difficult for any trans person in the USA right now; so many of us are kept in poverty, and I feel these constraints tightening around me to a near-unbearable degree. With the loss of Title IX protections for trans Americans today (6/30/'26), the future feels even more uncertain.
I am reaching out for help because I truly need it. I know this kind of thing is temporary fix, so please, if you have any non-AI employment leads, let me know of them. Anything. I'll consider anything from someone I trust.
