My name is Brenda; writing about my daughter—something I never imagined I would need to do, but I’m doing so with humility and hope.

My daughter is a single mom to three beautiful young girls. She is also my caregiver. I am disabled and need around-the-clock care, and she has taken on that responsibility without hesitation, complaint, or expectation of anything in return. She has always been the one who takes care of everyone else first. Asking for help has never come naturally to her.

Recently, our family experienced something heartbreaking and frightening. My daughter and her children were involved in a domestic violence situation. For their safety, she had to take immediate action to protect herself and her girls. In the midst of this, her husband drained their joint bank account and cut off all financial support. He has not contributed to rent, food, or basic necessities for the children.

Despite this, my daughter has continued to show strength and grace beyond what I can put into words. She has made sure her girls feel safe, loved, and as secure as possible—even while carrying fear and uncertainty herself. We have been incredibly grateful for a few generous family members who helped us get through this month with food and basic needs. Their kindness has meant everything to us.

We are now in the process of working with the courts to obtain emergency child support through an order of protection, but these things take time. What we don’t have is time to stay where we are. For safety and stability, we need to move as soon as possible.

We are asking—humbly and with deep gratitude—for help with moving costs and a rental deposit so we can secure a new home and begin rebuilding. Any amount helps. Truly. Even sharing this means more than you may realize.

As her mother, I want people to know this: my daughter is one of the most selfless, loving, and generous people I know. She gives endlessly to her children, to me, and to others—often at the expense of herself. She never asks for help, even when she needs it most. This is me asking on her behalf, because I believe she and her girls deserve safety, peace, and a chance to heal.
