Help Artemis Stay Alive: Support For School and Safety

Hello friends and incredibly awesome humans!

My name is Artemis, and I'm reaching out to you because I need help. In case you weren't aware, it's not.... safe to be in the U.S. anymore if you are "other", and I am. I'm trans and a woman, among other things, that mark me for being targeted by this administration.

I don't know how to sugar coat it but staying here in the U.S. means suffering and premature death.

I've spent the last 2.5 years working very hard, pouring everything I have into becoming a scholar and social scientist. I've been mostly successful- I've done multiple studies and have academic articles under review at two different scholarly journals. Because of that hard work, I have a way forward- a way out to safety. I have been granted a once in a lifetime opportunity to study at one of the world's top schools in political science. This is my chance, my only chance, to build a future, contribute to vital research, and ensure my safety.

But I can’t do it alone. In reality, nobody changes their fate alone.

That's why I'm reaching out, and asking for your help. As I mentioned, I am a scholar and researcher, currently finishing my BA in Individualized Studies in Feminist Rhetorical Practices at MSU Denver. The work I have done so far sits at the intersection of rhetoric, economics, and policy, with an explicit feminist lens.

The work, of course, must go beyond research- towards changing the conditions people are forced to live in, and changing them for the better. Going to graduate school abroad represents my only ticket to safety, but more, it represents a chance to change things through knowledge.

I've done what I can beyond crowdfunding, and because of that work to find resources, I've got many things in place for my move abroad. But, I don't have everything in place, yet, and I need a little extra support.
