For the past 10 years, I have been living with end-stage renal disease, which means having dialysis three times a week for 4 hours. Additionally, for the past 3 years I’ve also been battling heart failure. During that time, I have done everything I could to stay strong and keep up with my medical expenses, rent, and bills. It has not been easy, but I have always managed to push through and take care of myself the best I could.

Last month, everything changed when I was admitted to the hospital for an evaluation. I received both a blessing and a challenge. I was officially placed on the double transplant list for a new heart and kidney, but my doctors told me it would be safest to remain in the hospital until that day comes. This means I can no longer work or provide for myself, and the financial stress has quickly become overwhelming. I hate asking for help, but right now I do not know what else to do. Sharing my story and reaching out is not easy, but every bit of support, whether a donation, a share, or a kind thought, means more than I can put into words.
