Update!

Willow has had her first vet visit and the situation is as dire as we thought. She is struggling to eat and is in a lot of pain. Her current diagnoses are as follows:

Hyperthyroidism

Stage 1 kidney disease

UTI and anemia

Severe dental decay

Ear mites and possible infections

Her treatment plan will now include daily medication for thyroid support, antibiotics to treat the UTI and any infection in her mouth or ears. Diet will be specific for kidney support and anemia.

Willow's story:

We’re trying to help a stray, sweet elderly kitty in our neighborhood, and could really use some support.

We first saw her last October—completely emaciated—and didn’t think she’d survive the winter. She disappeared for months… and recently came back, drinking from our pool.

Despite all of this, she is incredibly loving and clearly was someone’s pet at some point. She just wants affection and a safe place to heal.

Cost estimate:

First visit total was $800

We’re estimating about $1,500 total just to get started for sedation, dental care, and initial treatment cost including medication.

We are still committed to fostering her, making sure she gets her medication, proper care, and a safe place to recover until she finds a home.
