Post Nicu Entwistle Family Surprise
Donation protected
Conrad's journey into the world wasn't expected to be so scary for the Entwistle family. Conrad spent over 8 weeks in the NICU after being born with unforeseen serious health issues. This time has been far from easy.
Luckily, Conrad has two incredibly strong parents and a big sister, Ireland, who are there to support him. Dan and Lauryn Entwistle, Conrad's parents, are huge parts of their communities. They have juggled commuting to Boston to see Conrad, keeping Ireland (their daughter) in school, and maintaining an income for their family.
Lauryn has spent several years in schools and continues to have a lasting effect on her students. Dan, a special educator at HCA, continued to work through his son's time in the NICU. Lauryn and Dan do so much for their communities, and many of us have been uncertain of how best to tangibly support them. We would like to bring joy into their lives, as the birth of a new human signifies hope.
Conrad was released from the hospital on May 6th. He is still recovering from medical procedures and will continue to have complex medical needs. As a community, the staff at Harpswell Coastal Academy (HCA) want to fundraise for a swing set for their family. Ireland has mentioned her desire to have a swing set and their family's play space will be limited to their own backyard this summer, due to the health risks of public space and activities. Please help us grant her this wish!
