One week ago, our world changed forever. My dad passed away suddenly, without warning, and far too young. We are still in shock. The kind of grief my mom is feeling is something no one can prepare for…losing the person she built her entire adult life with, the person she woke up beside for over 30 years, the person who loved her so deeply and so well.

My mom would never ask for help herself. She is proud, private, and strong in ways that inspire me every day. But right now, she is facing something impossible. Not only is she grieving the love of her life, she is also carrying the heavy weight of medical bills, funeral costs, and the financial strain that happens when life stops but the world doesn’t.

She hasn’t been able to work. She’s alone in a house that feels too quiet, too big, too full of memories. She’s trying to make impossible decisions while her heart is still breaking. And she deserves time, real time, to breathe, to grieve, to find her footing again.

My dad was loved by so many. He was the kind of man people remember. The one who showed up, the one who helped, the one who made people laugh, the one you could count on. And I know there are people out there who loved him and would want to support the woman he loved most.

I am creating this for my mom. Not because she asked, but because she would never ask. Because losing the person you’ve shared your whole life with is devastating enough without worrying about how to keep the lights on or how to pay for the funeral of the man you thought you’d grow old with.
