My dad is the “cool dad” everyone loved. He raised me all on his own after my mother passed away, and he gave everything he had.  The care he gave my mother while she was sick and dying was undeniably profound. Working all the time to pay her hefty medical bills for her heart transplant surgery, yet still found a way to be home to cook her dinner and rub her feet and help with my homework. He is an amazing man and father. And now he is the one who is sick and suffering with a severe spinal disease that has taken away his ability to move on his own without excruciating pain and needing multiple spinal surgeries to reverse it. He has had one of the three surgeries and it financially wiped him out with the heavy copays equaling multiple thousands of dollars, but all 3 are needed for it to be successful. There are days where he tries to pick up my one year old son and is unable to give enough strength for even that. I find our situations have reversed and he is now the one needing the care and support he gave to my mother and I, but I am unable to help him by myself. So I am asking for the love and support of our loving community to help me help my father get his spinal surgery so that he may walk again unassisted without the severe pain and misery he is currently living in and be able to enjoy life agIn.
