"In just a few hours, my life changed forever" is what Rose said to me when I asked how she and her family were doing after learning one of the most severely devastated areas in Milwaukee County (Wisconsin) with the historic flooding 8/9/2025-8/10/2025 was her neighborhood.

Rose is a strong, independent woman. She is accustomed to taking care of things on her own and paving her own way for the successes and accomplishments she's had in her life.

If ever there were a time appropriate to ask for help, it is now. She and her family watched floodwaters rise from the city street, nearly fully submerging her vehicles, expanding into her front yard, up the front stairs of her home, and finally into her home. All this while her son and neighbors attempted to clean debris from the street sewers in hopes of redirecting the water.
