My Dog and I Escaped the Fire

My home in Akron, NY was destroyed in a fire on May 25. I got out safely with my dog, but we lost everything. I'm asking for help to recover and rebuild after this sudden loss.

From the Ashes, We Begin Again

On the night of May 25, a fire broke out at our log home on Scotland Road in Akron, NY.

I was home when it happened, and thankfully, my dog and I got out safely before it spread. While the structure is still standing, the home has suffered significant smoke and water damage. It's no longer livable, and my son and I are now displaced, trying to pick up the pieces and figure out what's next.

We are incredibly grateful to the Newstead Fire Company and all the surrounding departments who responded that night. Their fast response prevented a total loss.

My son and I are asking for support as we begin the difficult process of recovery. Your donations will help with:

- Temporary housing and basic living needs

- Replacing essentials like clothing, bedding, and supplies

- Starting over while we wait for long insurance and repair processes
